As a business lawyer, Alex helps clients navigate the full lifecycle of business ownership. When clients are starting new ventures, he assists with incorporation, shareholder and partnership agreements, and the foundational legal structures that set businesses up for success. When they're ready to grow, he negotiates and drafts commercial contracts, leases, and other agreements that drive their businesses forward. When clients need to buy or sell a business - whether structured as an asset purchase or share purchase - Alex guides them through every stage, from initial negotiations and due diligence, purchase agreement drafting, and closing.

Alex also handles corporate restructuring matters, including amalgamations, share reorganizations, and estate freezes. Working in close partnership with his clients' accountants, he prepares tax-efficient corporate structures to achieve business succession, operational efficiency, and tax planning objectives. His commercial real estate practice includes acquisitions and dispositions of commercial properties, drafting and reviewing financing documents, and creating limited partnerships for real estate development projects.

Beyond individual transactions, many clients rely on Alex as their go-to advisor for legal questions. Clients turn to Alex for assistance with creditor remedies and collections, builder's liens, wills and estate planning, and civil litigation matters. He has appeared before both the Provincial Court and Supreme Court of British Columbia, bringing the same pragmatic, business-focused approach to dispute resolution and other legal matters.

Alex graduated with his Juris Doctor from the University of Manitoba in 2016, where he was awarded the Abraham L. Simkin, Q.C. Prize for the highest academic standing in Corporations Law II. He earned his Bachelor of Arts in Art History from the University of British Columbia. During law school, Alex served as Co-chair of the Manitoba Law Students Association Community Outreach Committee, frequently collaborating with the Children's Wish Foundation on fundraising initiatives. He was called to the British Columbia bar in June 2017.

Outside the office, Alex enjoys spending time with his wife and twins, exploring Vancouver's restaurant scene, and music. He is committed to giving back to the Vancouver community, volunteering with The Broadway Group to help adults with varying physical abilities live independently. Alex believes that strong communities create thriving businesses, and he's dedicated to building lasting relationships with his clients, their professional advisors, and the broader business community.
